Production Line Description
Chicken manure is the feces of chickens used as an organic fertilizer, especially for soil low in nitrogen. Of all animal manures, it has the highest amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Chicken manure is sometimes pelletized for use as a fertilizer, and this product may have additional phosphorus, potassium or nitrogen added. However, in recently years, chicken manure begin to be utilized as oraganic fertilizer, which brings the poutry farmers the most ideal approach to deal with the manure.
What are chicken manure pellets?
To make this fertiliser, poultry manure is dried and converted into a small, pelleted or powdered form so it can be easily integrated into the soil. It’s rich in nutrients and great for many plants, and vegetables in particular.
Organic Chicken Manure Pellets are ideal for soil improvement and the planting and feeding of established plants. Chicken Manure is an effective non-chemical fertiliser and is a useful source of nitrogen, which is the main nutrient plants require for healthy green, leafy root growth.

- Use for feeding all around the garden
- NPK 4.5-3.5-2.5 + trace elements
Why use pelleted chicken manure?
Pelleted chicken manure is among the most popular and widely available non-chemical fertilisers on the market, making it a popular choice among amateur gardeners.
It’s rich in a number of important nutrients, the main one being nitrogen, which helps promote green leafy growth in plants. It also has phosphorus and potassium; phosphorus releases slowly to promote root growth, while potassium promotes flower and helps fruits and vegetables ripen.
While fresh chicken manure is high in nitrogen, it may contain bacteria that can be harmful to humans, and is unpleasant to transport and handle. In contrast, pelleted chicken manure is sterilised when it’s manufactured, making it much simpler to use for home gardeners.
How To Make Fertilizer Pellets From Chicken Manure?
The production process of chicken manure organic fertilizer is basically includes: selection of raw material (chicken manure, etc.), drying and sterilization, mixing of ingredients, granule, cooling and screening, metering and seal, finished product warehousing.
The complicated production process of chicken manure is: The raw materials of organic fertilizer (animal waste, household garbage, dead leaves, biogas, waste bacteria, etc.) will be fermented and then entered into the semi-wet material crushing machine; then adding the elements of NPK, such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium chloride, ammonium chloride, etc., to meet the required standards; then it is stirred by a blender and then in to the granulating mechanism; after coming out, it will be dried; then sifting through the sieve, and the qualified products will be packaged; the granulation that not be qualified will return to the granule to produce again.
Among them, the reasonable collocation of the fineness of raw materials is crucial to the production process of organic fertilizer. According to the experience, the fineness of the whole raw material should be matched as follows: The raw materials of 100-60 mesh account for about 30% – 40%; the raw materials of 60 mesh to a diameter of 1.00 ㎜ account for about 35%; small particles, whose diameter is 1.00 2.00 ㎜, account for about 25%-30%. The higher the fineness of the material, the better the viscosity, so the surface finish is naturally higher. However, in the process of production, the use of super – scale high fineness materials is easy to ncause the problems, such as excessive particle size and irregular particle size.
The specific process is as follows:
1. Manure crushing: The manure will become loose after drying. Then the hammer mill is capable of crushing it into powder with 2~5mm in diameter.
2. Manure drying: Since the moisture content of waste animal bedding for chicken, cow and horse…is always very high. So the very first step of manure pellet plant is drying. The drying process of animal manure is different from biomass materials. otherwise, the high water content will block the crusher / hammer mill. The moisture of manure wastes should be dried to less than 15% during this process.
3. Manure pelletizing: After crushing, the manure is ready for pelletizing. In fertilizer pellet mill press, the manure will be extruded into granulated products, which are called manure pellets or fertilizer pellets.
4. Pellets cooling: Cooling machine is needed to cool down the hot fertilizer pellets extruded from the flat die pellet press or ring die pellet mill. Then, the pellets can be stored or used.

What are the benefits of using Chicken Pellets?
Chicken Manure Pellets are an excellent natural garden fertiliser. The main benefits include:
- Slow release nutrients
- Increases water holding capacity.
- Add vitality to your garden
- Improves organic matter
How do I use these pellets?
For flowers and vegetables spread 100g per square metre amongst the soil before planting. Apply the same amout every 6-8 weeks throughout the growing season.
For planting trees and shrubs apply 200-500g into the planting hole and mix well into the soil
For roses spread 100g per quare metre every 6-8 weeks from early Spring through to the middle of Autumn.
How to Make Chicken Pellet Fertilizer?
Whether you produce chicken pellet fertilizer by single machine or production line, the most important thing is choosing the suitable pellet fertilizer machine according to your actual situations like nutrition requirements, final pellet size, production capacity, power etc.
Fertilizer pellets made from chicken manure
When using the single machine, you need to dry the chicken manure under the sun firstly, adjust the moisture content and press the chicken manure into small pieces less than 3mm. After pelleting, the hot pellet fertilizer need to be placed in somewhere ventilated for temperature decreasing, which is better for later package.
If you have a mount of chicken manure, you are suggested to set up the chicken pellet fertilizer production line which mainly consists of hammer mill, drying machine, pellet fertilizer machine, cooling machine, packing machine etc. With the complete machines, both of efficiency and quality can be improved a lot.
